On this page we collect events! Organised by the Guild itself or by its members, local to Groningen, or somewhere in the Netherlands that we could travel to together in a carpool or train party...

There will always be more events than we know of. On pages of various fiber salespeople you will often also find lists of events they're attending. If you subscribe to their newsletters or are a member of other guilds, for example the national Quilting guild or the national Spinning guild, those also have good lists for national events.

Voskop's Spinning Workshops

Trying out a new tool? Want to do the same hobby with someone? Outside of standard office hours? I have been spinning yarn for some years and would like to share the hobby with more people! At home, I have lots of wool, a drum carder, a spinning wheel, multiple spindles, hand cards, a garden for nice weather, lots of tea, and lots of crochet books. I have wool that I washed and carded myself, but also commercial wool. You can use my tools but at the end of the day those will stay home with me. If you don't have wool yourself, I will give you some from my hoard. That (and the yarn you make) you can take home. I'll give you the first bits of wool for free!'

Come spin yarn with us! I can teach you whatever I know and let you (in a supervised way) use my tools. I can give you a beginner's initiation to spinning, show you how to (chain) ply on a wheel, help you wind yarn into a ball or skein or center-pull ball, and help you process fleece with my drum carder. Tour de Fleece 2026

Tour de Fleece! As long as the wheels (of the bikes) are turning, the wheels (of the wool) will be, too. People usually set up a challenge for themselves or join a "team" to try to get the most kilometers of yarn spun (does anyone have any kind of link to a central website for this? Does such a thing exist?), but other types of challenge are "spin ten minutes every day" or "spin these four rolags by the end of the event". This year it's from July 4 until July 26, with rest days on July 13 and July 20. Join the Ravelry thread to tell us if you're participating, and if you are, what your goals are going to be! During the event we will use it for active event chatter too.
